In June 2023 at a conference presented jointly by The Association for the Study of Literature and Environment (ASLE) and The Association for Environmental Studies and Sciences (AESS) IEC members, Azucena Castro, Jeffrey Insko, Isabel Lane, Yangdong Li, Rebecca Macklin, and Bethany Wiggin presented a talk titled. Intersecting Energy Cultures: Community collaborations for just transitions. The presentation dealt with themes of pedagogy, public engagement, and activism.
The theme of the conference was “Reclaiming the Commons.” Through an environmental humanities lens, this theme encouraged the community to reassess what it means to care for the commons and how the commons are conceptualized.
